An Overview of the Farber Soul Center

An experienced life coach and consultant, Dr. Sandra Schiff is the president of Health Mate, Inc., a position she has held for over 15 years. Dr. Sandra Schiff is also an active member of her civic community and currently serves on Friendship Circle’s Farber Soul Center Committee.

Established in 1994, the nonprofit Friendship Circle of Michigan currently provides friendship and support for more than 3,000 children and young adults with special needs throughout the state. Affiliated with Chabad-Lubavitch of Michigan, Friendship Circle sponsors a number of after-school and vocational programs through the Ferber Kaufman LifeTown facility, its main location. Additionally, it will begin offering programs at the Farber Soul Center, which is anticipated to open at the end of 2015.

Designed to offer culinary, traditional, and digital arts programs, the Soul Center will expand Friendship Circle’s mission to include adults with special needs. Planned as an 18,000-square-foot facility, it will feature a community hall for events and workshops, along with a cafe where center participants can gain work experience. Another area of the facility gives adults with special needs space to create artwork in almost any medium they want, and its gallery serves as a display space where finished works can be sold on commission.
